It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leona Thompson Mallory of Bland, Virginia, born in Bastian, Virginia, who passed away on March 10, 2024, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Thompson and Ida Hounshell Thompson; her husband Thomas Mallory Jr.; her sons, James Thomas Mallory and Michael Udell Mallory; and her siblings, Ellen French, Ossie Lang and Elmer Thompson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jeanetta Mae Mallory of Bland, VA and Rebecca Sue Mallory of Bland, VA; her sister Ollie Thompson of Bland, VA; and her grandchildren, Michael Udell Mallory and Tessa Elizabeth Mallory. She is also survived by several Great Grandchildren and, several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bland Community Church or the Bland County Fire Department.
