It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Hounshell of Bland, Virginia, who passed away on December 5, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bruce Shockley and Virginia Shockley; her former husband E. B. Hounshell; her husband Vernon Neel; her brothers, Edward Shockley and Billy Shockley; and her nephew Todd Steffey.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy Roberts (Gary) of Marion, Karen Umberger (Chet) of Wytheville and Mike Hounshell (Dana) of Marion; her stepdaughter Lori Newberry (Mark) of Pittsboro; her grandchildren, Jeb and Gatlin Cregger; and her siblings, Linda Steffey (Stanley) of Wytheville, Benny Shockley (Carol) of Bland and David Shockley of Virginia Beach.
