With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Colgate Lipscomb (Blairs, Virginia), who passed away on December 27, 2022 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his daughter Cynthia Lipscomb Hines; his son-in-law Kevin Alban; his grandson Joshua Colgate Hines; and his siblings, Robert Keith Lipscomb, Randolph Lipscomb (Randy), June Smith and Gayle Guthrie.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Marshall Lipscomb; his daughter Tara Lipscomb Cobbs (Marty) of Callands; his stepson James Colgate Lipscomb, Jr. (Christy) of Blairs; and his sisters, Peggy Montgomery of Brookneal, Glenda Guthrie of Lynchburg and Deborah Lacks of Brookneal. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
