She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus Hargrove and Viola Hargrove of Roanoke Rapids, NC.; her former husband John E. Spence (George R. Crowder); and her siblings, Sara May, Mary Alice Gray and Walter Hargrove.
She is survived by: her husband George R. Crowder; her caregivers, Alice Colbert, Shaunqual Roberts, Edna Rose, Mandy Sikorski and Ann Crawley; her sons, Steven N. Spence and J. Keith Spence (Kim) of Colonial Heights; her grandchildren, David Spence (Ashley) of Fishersville, Leslie Grammer (Jason) of Colonial Heights, Kate Spence (Jeremy) of South Hill, Ben Spence (Erin) of Blackstone, Walt Spence of Henrico and Lauren Snead (James) of Blackstone; and also, Linda Blevins and Michael Sommerville. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
