It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Ellen Lansdown of Blackstone, Virginia, born in Nottoway, Virginia, who passed away on February 12, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Creed Nelson Green and Helen Fortune Best; her husband Louis "Smitty" Lansdown; and her siblings, Ned, Carrol, George, Nelson, Jr., Bertha and Clara.
She is survived by: her stepdaughters, Garlene and Colleen; her brother-in-law Gilbert Epes; her niece Ella Jones; her nephews, Kenneth and Ray Epes; and her friend Thadine Roberts. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
