He was predeceased by: his parents, Mercedes King Mayo and William Moncure Gravatt, Jr.; and his brother William Moncure Gravatt, III. He is survived by: his children, Carter Randolph Gravatt (Windley), John Wilie Gravatt (Gina) and Sarah Gravatt Briggs (Bill); the mother of his children Sarah Sutton Gravatt; his grandchildren, Sutton Carter Gravatt and Sophie Leigh Gravatt; his sister Mercedes Gravatt Grandin; his nephew Edward Wilson Grandin; and his niece Mercedes Mayo Grandin.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warriors Foundation or to the Virginia Veterans Services Foundation for Sitter and Barfoot Veterans Care Center.
