Hattie E. McDuffie Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Hattie E. McDuffie (Blackstone, Virginia), who passed away on April 14, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George W. Hatchett and Emma Irby Hatchett; and her children, Lydia McDuffie and Michael McDuffie. She is survived by: her sister Gladys Young of Blackstone, Virginia; her nieces, Hollie Hudson of New York, Geri Bell (Calvin) of North Carolina and Jackie Young of Richmond, Virginia; her great grandchild Arriel McDuffie; her great great grandchild Nolan McDuffie of Blackstone, Virginia; her great-niece Lawanna Hudley of Illinois; her grandsons, Marqus McDuffie of Georgia and Adam McDuffie of Maryland; her close friends, Shirley Woods of New York and Joyce Fowlkes of South Hill, Virginia; and also, Phyllis Altson, Wanda Eppes and Reverend Trinetia Banks.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the W. E. Hawkes and Son Funeral Home (504 East St, Blackstone, VA 23824). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Blackstone Shiloh Baptist Church (312 S Brown St, Blackstone, VA 23824).
