He was predeceased by: his parents, James Jonas and Stella Mae Price Keister; and his siblings, Judith Leigh Teates (Bennett) and Freddy Keister (Shirley). He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Amos Keister; his daughters, Michelle Berg (Mike), Susannah Barney (Dan) and Heather Keister (Niels); his brother Jonathan; his sister-in-law Tracey Keister; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Berg, Katherine Falloure (Will), William Pettus VI, Phillip "Luie" Pettus and Fraser Stevens. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
