She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Rathburn and Vernie Maney; her husband Thomas Earl Ray; and her siblings, Glenn Rathburn, Ruth Ballard, Grace Hylemon, June Waldrup and Burl Rathburn.
She is survived by: her children, Melodie Kapolka (Michael) and Chris Ray (Mary); her grandson Nicholas Kapolka; and her brother Earl Rathburn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moss Arts Center in Blacksburg, or your local animal rescue.
