She was predeceased by: her parents, James L. W. West, Jr. and Kate Bradley West. She is survived by: her husband Harold Burkhart of Blacksburg; her son Qato Burkhart of Los Angeles, CA; her brother James L. W. West III of Beaufort, SC; and her brother-in-law Ernest Burkhart of Braman, OK. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
