She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy Burton and Violet Hensley Halstead; her husband Clayton James Holmes; and her siblings, Lewis, Priscilla, Macie Ann and Mary.
She is survived by: her sons, Clayton (Chris) of Fluvanna County, VA, Leroy (Kim) of Blacksburg, Harry (Margaret) of Blacksburg and James (Rhonda) of Blacksburg; and her close friend Joyce Wilson. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel (150 Country Club Dr SW, Blacksburg, VA 24060). A graveside service was held on Friday, October 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Holmes Family Cemetery (2409 Bishop Rd, Blacksburg, VA 24060).
