It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Dale Oliver (Blacksburg, Virginia), born in Glade Spring, Virginia, who passed away on February 24, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Oliver and Stella Oliver; his sister Wilma; and his brother-in-law Mahlon Wyatt. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Duncan Oliver; his daughters, Debbie Dustin (Richard) of Springfield, OH and Brenda Oliver of Blacksburg, VA.; his grandsons, Michael (Ashley) and Erik Dustin of Springfield, OH; his great grandchildren, Georgia and Lincoln; and his brother Darius Oliver (Sue) of Abingdon, VA. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Harvest Baptist Church Building Fund, 201 Lucas Drive, Blacksburg, VA, Appalachian Bible College, 161 College Drive, Mount Hope, WV 25880, or the J. Dale and Patricia Oliver Scholarship for ALCE undergraduate students at VA Tech.
