He was predeceased by: his sons, Mark Steven and William Pasco; his parents, Ruth Elizabeth and Oaka Hare; and his siblings, Oaka (Sonny), Barbara Kennett and Betty Jeanne Moore.
He is survived by: his wife Hazel of Blacksburg; his sister Ann Boyd Newman (Ralph) of Pinehurst, NC; his daughters, Debbi Evans (Reese) of Spot, NC, Jacki Mitchell (Mike) of Blacksburg, Theresa Scarborough (Gerry) of Spot, NC and Cindy McGuire (Kenny) of White Gate; and his stepsons, Tim Ligon (Karen) of Blacksburg, VA, Jeff Ligon (Carrie) of Blacksburg, VA, Scott Ligon (Mary) of York, PA and Todd Ligon (Klarissa) of Venice, FL. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
