He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Bland, Sr. and Doris M. Bland. He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Emily and Luke; and his siblings, Lynn Duncan, Kaye Bland, Delma Griffith and Jimmy Bland. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom he held very dear; some cousins and in-laws; also, countless friends and patrons.
