It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harold Eugene Burkhart (Blacksburg, Virginia), who passed away on October 20, 2022, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Walter Frank Burkhart; his wife Katherine West Burkhart (Kathy); his mother Zelma Burkhart; and his sister Elaine Martin. He is survived by: his son Qato Burkhart of Los Angeles, CA; his brother Ernest Burkhart of Braman, OK; and his brother-in-law James L. W. West III of Beaufort, SC. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Harold Burkhart Fellowship for forestry graduate students, which will carry on Harold's legacy as an educator.
