We are sad to announce that on October 24, 2020, at the age of 92, Elizabeth Jane Porterfield Janey Murley of Blacksburg, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William Porterfield and Florence Wren Porterfield; her son Arthur Janey; her grandson Nathaniel Reed; and her siblings, William Sheridan "Bud" Lewis, Lewis Lyndon "Fat" Porterfield, Nellie Janey and Lethia Atkins.

She is survived by: her son Gentry Janey; her granddaughters, Candace Anne Janey and Elizabeth Ann Priester; and her great grandchildren, John Priester, Dillon Priester, Kristopher Vaught, Ellianna Kurdirka, Justin George, Lillian Wirt and Cameron Wirt.

“I am so profoundly sad to learn of Janes’s passing. She was my fourth grade teacher & I always loved the time I spent with her in the classroom. When my Dad, Carleton Drewry died in 1990, Jane got in touch & we rekindled our friendship, but as two adults. Every year since, except the current one, I have visited friends & family in Virginia and I have always gone to see her. I cherish our many visits, phone calls, & letter.s. I am so sorry for your loss. Barbara (Lou) Drewry Whitney”
