She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Cayton and Evelyn Cayton. She is survived by: her brothers, Hayward and Leslie Cayton; her husband Lucius M. Merritt, Jr.; her daughter Jennifer Merritt; her grandsons, Reagan and Riley Cole; and her sister Betty Ziringer (Ed). She is also survived by numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
