It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Aurelia Dance Lacy of Blacksburg, Virginia, born in Halifax, Virginia, who passed away on June 9, 2023, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Micajah Pennington Lacy; her siblings, Elbert Dance, Janye Powell, Marion Henderson and Evelyn Snead; and her parents, Frank Dance and Janie Dance.

She is survived by: her sons, Michael (Linda), Frank (Janice) and Walter (Iris); her grandchildren, Elizabeth Lacy Heffner (David), Adrienne Lacy Morales (Drew), Brittany Lacy (Thomas Donegan), Thomas Lacy, Danielle Lacy Hillenbrand (Brent), Micajah Lacy (Alica), Carmen Lacy and Reneé Lacy; and her great grandchildren, James, Amelia, Isaac Heffner, Bennett, Aurelia Hillenbrand, Michael Morales, Dean and Olive Lacy.

The family asks in lieu of flowers that memorials be directed to the Micajah P. Lacy Scholarship at Virginia Tech.
