Audrey Smith Dowdy Obituary
We are sad to announce that on November 25, 2024, at the age of 98, Audrey Smith Dowdy of Blacksburg, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Pearl Smith and Easter Smith; her husband Bert Junior Dowdy; her daughter Audrey Oakley; and her foster son Jessie Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Tolbert, Becky Edmonds, Shirley (Wayne Smith) and Bert; her daughter-in-law Jessie Dowdy; her brother Eugene Smith; and her sisters-in-law, Pauline Smith and Louise Dowdy. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the McCoy Funeral Home (150 Country Club Dr SW, Blacksburg, VA 24060). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
