We are sad to announce that on August 27, 2019, at the age of 94, Hilda Evans Downing (Birdsnest, Virginia), born in Hallwood, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel H. Evans and Delcenia Bailey Evans; and her sisters, Dorothy Marie Evans and Willisy Evans Tull. She is survived by: her children, Mary Catherine Hawker (Michael) of Melfa, VA, Donald W. Downing (Meili) of Birdsnest, C. L, Gregory Allen Downing (Sue) of Hudson, MA and Martin Joseph Downing (Betty) of Birdsnest; her grandchildren, Tom, Andy, Patrick, Chris, Eric, Anna, Jamie, Jill and Martin; her great grandchildren, Charles, Kailyn, Megan, Olivia, Riley, Collin, Noah, Marissa, Evan, Liam, Audrey and Brooke; her great great grandchild Chase; and her cousin Louella Fox. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
