It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Lee Gilbert of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, who passed away on May 10, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John F. Gilbert and Mossie Caudill Herron; his wife Joann; and his sisters, Florence Bush, Peggy Christy and Lucy Owens.
He is survived by: his son Robert L. Gilbert, II (Jacqui); his brothers, John (Helga) and Roy Gilbert (Carol); his grandson Gregory Gilbert (Megan); and his niece Vicky Snoha.
