With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Harold Greene of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, who passed away on February 8, 2025 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, John Harold shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid John Harold farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Barney Carson Greene and Myrtle Evelyn Greene (Gilliam); and his siblings, Richard Greene, James Greene and Anna Mae Gilley.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah Greene; his daughter Linda Austin (Jon); his sister Patsy Quillen; and his stepchildren, Glenda Sturgill and Shaun Clifton. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Sturgill Funeral Home (298 Harrell St, Pennington Gap, VA 24277). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel (298 Harrell St, Pennington Gap, VA 24277). A graveside service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at the American Legion Cemetery.
