He is survived by: his wife Emma Carter Lawson; his sons, Charlie Earl Lawson (Laura) and J. D. Lawson; his grandson Charles Arlie Lawson; and his siblings, Johnny Lawson and Betty Butler. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
