It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carolyn Hope Stevens Slone of Big Rock, Virginia, who passed away on May 10, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Stallard Stevens and Avanelle Salyers Stevens; her husband Bobby Slone; her daughter Tonya Slone; and her sister Judy Stevens Moore.
She is survived by: her children, Gwendalyn Slone (Mary Margaret Thompson) of Cedar Bluff, VA, Mary Elizabeth Hall (Dennis) of Lineville, AL, Rocky Slone (Joan) of Pensacola, FL and Bobby Slone (Liesl) of Hickory, NC; her sister Peggy Parsons (Frank) of Schertz, TX.; her grandchildren, Stephanie Johnson, Tabitha Meadows, James Perry Johnson, April Moen, Chad Slone, Elyse Armstrong and Justin Hall; and her pet Banjo. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
