It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Rebecca Monroe Tomlin of Big Island, Virginia, who passed away on October 19, 2024, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Weston Morgan Monroe and Ira Enochs Monroe; her husband Michael Allen Tomlin; and her sister Patricia Reynolds. She is survived by: her son Edward Allen Tomlin (Jessica); her siblings, Winston F. Monroe, Richard B. Monroe (Wanda) and Brenda M. Ashwell (Dennis); and her grandchildren, Abby Lee Tomlin and Luke Allen Tomlin.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 23rd 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the BIG Island Baptist Church (10747 Lee Jackson Hwy, Big Island, VA 24526). A graveside service was held on Thursday, October 24th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Bethany United Methodist Church (2680 Bethany Rd, Rustburg, VA 24588).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Heartland Hospice, 7806 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502.
