He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Dean" Lester Routon and Josephine Turner Routon; and his close friend Vickie Routon Hudson. He is survived by: his sons, Joshua Routon (Stephanie), Jeremy Routon and Michael Paul Routon; his grandchildren, Kadin Routon, Colin Routon and Brinley Routon; his sisters, Connie Routon Purvis (Wayne) and Lisa Routon Hodges (Ronnie); his nephew Tommy Smith (Tina); his niece Kimberly Deal (Joe); and his pets, Lizzy and Caper.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Tharp Funeral Home Chapel (320 N Bridge St, Bedford, VA 24523). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at the BIG Island Baptist Church Cemetery (10747 Lee Jackson Hwy, Big Island, VA 24526).
