He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Tigney and Maggie Johnson Tigney; his wife Charlotte Marie Payne; his siblings, Charles, Maggie and Mary; and his stepchildren, Deborah, Rodney and Vernon.
He is survived by: his siblings, John, Timothy, Caroline, Mabel, Anna, Elsie and Eleanor; his stepson Malcolm Payne; and his stepgrandson Antwain Payne. He is also survived by seven step-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
