With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Holt Embrey Hummer of Berryville, Virginia, who passed away on October 21, 2022 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John William Embrey and Bessie Marie Huff Embrey; her husband Joseph Earl Hummer; and her children, Lynwood Hummer, Gloria Jean "Jeannie" Cottrell and Gladys Jane "Janie" Hudson.
She is survived by: her daughters, JoAnn King (Sam) of Summit Point, WV, Mary "Molly" Peer (Larry) of Berryville, VA and Edna Rutherford of Winchester, VA; and her siblings, Sam Embrey, Bertha Jacobs, Judy Hamrick, Mary Ellen Wayland and Sally Loudin. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren.
