He was predeceased by: his father Russell Jennings "RJ"; and his siblings, Eileen Weekly, Eunice Brown, Helen Moyer, Franklin Whetzel and Emma Wittig.
He is survived by: his wife Zelda Riddle of Virginia; his daughters, Kathleen Whetzel (Wes Henkel) of Timberville, Carole Terry (Lance) of Bergton, Barbara Stover (Chris) of Broadway and Robin Otto (Dave) of Middletown, DE; his grandchildren, Jacob Stover (Kelli) of Broadway, Sally Stover of Richmond, Emma Terry (Matthew Dove) of Broadway, Leah Terry of Harrisonburg, Joe Otto of Newark, DE, Cooper Otto of Middletown, DE and Brody Otto of Middletown, DE; his great grandchild Beau Stover of Broadway; and his sister Ida Welling of Ripley, WV. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
