It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Elizabeth Johnston of Bentonville, Virginia, born in Alexandria, Virginia, who passed away on August 31, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Grubbs and Viola Grubbs; and her sister Bonnie Grubbs. She is survived by: her brother John B. Grubbs of Front Royal; her niece Carol Beth Kline of Strasburg, Virginia; her nephews, Timmy Grubbs of Strasburg and Daniel Grubbs of Denver, Colorado; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Jessica Aleshire of Front Royal, Amber Tharpe of Stephens City, William Tharpe of Strasburg and James Tharpe of Foot Hood, Texas..
