She was predeceased by: her husband Bert William Ashwell; her parents, James Miller Karnes and Leola Mert Karnes; and her siblings, Nolan Wayne Karnes, James Carl Karnes, Elwood Luck Karnes, Dorothy Lee Settles, Myrtle Irene Holdren and Opal June Ferguson.
She is survived by: her siblings, Grace Miller Johnson, Hazel Marie Gray, William Ray Karnes (Mae) and Sarah Anne Duncan; her children, James Bert Ashwell (Kimberly) and Vickie Lee Ashwell (Lou); and her grandsons, Carey Ashwell, Daniel Alvey (Tara), Louis Alvey (Amanda), Zackery Alvey (Kristin), Thomas Alvey and Dominic Alvey (Kendall). She is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
