As Vie Thompson departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Vie Thompson may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Vie Thompson leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Nobel Thompson and Hazel Bailey Thompson. She is survived by: her children, Ruthie Lawrence (Wesley) of Bedford, Cheryl VanAtta (Brad) of Bedford and Kennith Edwards, Jr. (Donna) of Lynchburg; and her grandchildren, Shiloh (Meaghan), Dakota Pellman, Ashley, Lindsey and Alex Edwards. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Friday, October 18th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Longwood Avenue Baptist Church (1304 Longwood Ave, Bedford, VA 24523). An entombment was held on Monday, October 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Fort Hill Memorial Park.
