She was predeceased by: her parents, Russell R. Gibbs and Ruby Fielder Gibbs; and her sister Betty Jean Owen (Donald A. Owen). She is survived by: her children, John W. DeLong II and Tohnya DeLong Davis (Mike); her grandchildren, Ashley Brooke (Noah), Johnny DeLong III (Ashley), Petty Officer 3rd Class US Navy Parker DeLong, Abby DeLong and Chloe Davis; her great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Duke, Sophie Brooke and Brynlee DeLong; her nephew Terry Owen (Barbara); and her great-nephew Mason.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service (1140 W Lynchburg Salem Turnpike, Bedford, VA 24523). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Olivet Southern Baptist Church (2933 Mt Olivet Rd, Bedford, VA 24523). A burial will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 2:45 PM at the Mt. Olivet Southern Baptist Church Cemetery (2933 Mt Olivet Rd, Bedford, VA 24523).
