She was predeceased by: her parents, Walker Davis Mitchell and Arneda Craighead Mitchell; her husband James Henry Howard; and her siblings, Davis Mitchell, Eugene Mitchell, Prentiss Mitchell, Roger Mitchell, Wayne Mitchell and Harriet Mitchell Saunders.
She is survived by: her daughters, Dee Johnston and Dana Lotspeich; her grandchildren, Emily Pearse, Adam Johnston, Tyler Johnston and Sarah Sassak; and her brother Elbert Mitchell. She is also survived by six great grandchildren.
