With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lewis Carlisle Davenport Jr. (Bedford, Virginia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 23, 2025 at the age of 86. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Davenport, Sr. and Ercel Bowyer Davenport; and his son Michael Todd Davenport. He is survived by: his son Steve Davenport (Tamara); his grandchildren, Kelsie Davenport (Ben) and Logan Davenport; his siblings, Linda Overstreet (Gary) and Connell Davenport (Evelyn); his nephew Randy Overstreet (Kim); and his nieces, Lisa Phillips and Ginger Cook (Brian). He is also survived by many cousins and special friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bedford Christian Church (1928 Moneta Rd, Bedford, VA 24523). A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Bedford Christian Church Building Fund, 1928 Moneta Road, Bedford, VA 24523.
