He was predeceased by: his parents, Adrian Revere Ellefson and Margaret Turner Ellefson; and his sister Marge Rhodes. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie West Ellefson; his stepchildren, Tammi and Robert Welge; his nephew Glenn Rhodes; his cousins, Virginia, Rhonda, Molly and Joseph Gardner; and his close friends, Kathy, Jack Trage and Russ Hurley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Bedford Habitat for Humanity, Bedford Humane Society or Main Street United Methodist Church.
