He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ewers and Juanita Ewers; his siblings, Arnold, Lynwood, Merwyn and Connie; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen and Loretta.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Crews Ewers; his children, John Ewers, Jr. (Joy), James Ewers (Candy) and Theresa Floyd (Tony); his daughter-in-law Lisa Hall (Ronnie); his siblings-in-law, Wilson Garrett and Joyce Ewers; his friend Frank Allen; his grandchildren, Jennifer Salonia (Shawn), Kristie Thilking (Bryan), John Ewers (May) and Jake Ewers; and his great grandchildren, Sawyer, Oliver, Benjamin Thilking, Phoebe, Zoe and Evie Ewers. He is also survived by step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
