With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jerry Lee Downey of Bedford, Virginia, who passed away on April 12, 2022 at the age of 83. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jerry Lee Downey to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay Downey and Madge Scruggs Downey; his son Michael Downey; his brothers, Nelson Downey and Hugh Penson; and his brother-in-law Gene Koepke (Delores).

He is survived by: his wife Carol Downey; his children, Lorna Poole (Michael) and Darrin Downey (Jessica); his grandchildren, Sara Tooley (Sam), Evan Poole (Taylor), Lauren Dixon (Kassey), Erin Stargel (Michael), Marsha Glorioso (Zack) and Michelle Hutchison (Steven); and his great grandchildren, Lillian Tooley, Liam Tooley, Riley Poole, Trent Dixon, Paige Dixon, Hayleigh Stargel, Logan Stargel, Harper Stargel, Zander Glorioso and Asher Glorioso. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bedford Ride – Central Virginia Alliance for Community Living, 1710 Whitfield Dr, Bedford, VA 24523.
