It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Baber Bates of Bedford, Virginia, who passed away on June 29, 2022, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her spouse Jamie Robert Bates; her parents, James Baber and Bertha Adcock Baber; her son Wayne Phillips; and her granddaughter Wendy Drumheller.
She is survived by: her children, Donna Bybee (Richard) of Bedford, Bonnie Drumheller (Al) of Lynchburg and Sam Phillips (Lois) of Concord; and her sisters, Berth Stocker and Thelma Campbell. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
