He was predeceased by: his parents, John Willie Zimmerman and Gaytie Earl Newman Zimmerman; and his brothers, Johnson Wayne Zimmerman and Jack Zimmerman. He is survived by: his daughter Sharon Zimmerman DeLong; his grandchildren, R. Allen Angle, Jr. (Amie), Craig Lowry DeLong (Ruth) and Courtney DeLong Gruss (Aaron); his great grandchildren, Ivy Noel Angle, Turner Allen Angle, Tallula Joy Angle and Brynn Makayla DeLong; and his stepgreat-grandsons, James Trail and Samuel Tosh.
