He is survived by: his wife Nancy Lee Brown Burnette; his sons, Tony Burnette (Norma) and Steven Burnette; his granddaughter Tiffany Hamilton; his sons, Brian Burnette (Brittany), Kevin Burnette (Carrie) and Keith Burnette (Ena); his daughter-in-law Shannon Burnette; his grandchildren, Beth, Coty Carter, Brandon Burnette, Christa, Cody Suppe, Donald Burnette, Audrey Hamilton, Cody Boyd, Brianna Broscritto, Caleb Burnette, Logan Burnette, Avery Burnette, Kaiden Aubrey Burnette and Landyn Lee Burnette; and his uncle Nathan Tester.

Visitation was held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Burch-Messier Funeral Home, Walnut Street Chapel (1235 Walnut St, Bedford, VA 24523). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 18th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
