He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Edward Patterson, Sr. and Annie McFall Patterson; and his siblings, Jack E. Patterson, Jr., David R. Patterson, Kenneth D. Patterson and Joyce Patterson Laughlin.
He is survived by: his wife Annie Jean Overstreet Patterson; his sons, Randall G. Patterson (Karen), Ralph E. Patterson (Carol) and Michael C. Patterson (Margaret); his grandchildren, Brandon (Kristi), Daniel (Tamara), Miranda, Garrett and Marshall (Stephanie); his stepgrandchildren, Kendall, Ryan J. (Melanie), Ryan T., Cory, Beth and Leanne (Colbey); and his sister Carolyn Faye Patterson Shaner. He is also survived by eighteen great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service (1140 W Lynchburg Salem Turnpike, Bedford, VA 24523). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Timber Ridge Baptist Church (3234 Timber Ridge Rd, Bedford, VA 24523). A burial was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Quaker Baptist Church Cemetery (4665 Chestnut Fork Rd, Bedford, VA 24523).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Quaker Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or Timber Ridge Baptist Church.
