She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Spencer Amos and Hazel Dooley Amos; and her brother Joseph Russell Amos. She is survived by: her husband Robert C. Karnes; her children, R. Christopher Karnes (Shannon) and Kim Massie (Jeff); her grandchildren, Hannah, Zachary Massie, Nathan and Garrett Karnes; her stepgranddaughter Hannan St. Clair; and her siblings, David Amos (Barbara), Margie Wheeler (Jim), Paula Karnes (Ray) and Sally Gray. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family request memorial contributions be made in Betty's name to Suck Spring Baptist Church 3887 Jopling Road, Bedford, VA 24523 in care of St. Jude children's hospital.
