He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Litten and Ata Newland Litten; and his brother Charles Clayton Litten. He is survived by: his wife Carol Litten; his children, Charles "Matt" Litten (Cheryl), Mark Litten (Debbie), Alawna Scherk (Tony) and Cara Litten; and his granddaughters, Hannah Michael (Josh) and Alyssa Scherk.
Although he battled dementia and Alzheimer's in his last years, with a tiny prompting, he could beautifully whistle Amazing Grace, one of his favorite songs.
