He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Morton Witt and Clare Howerton Witt; his brothers, Harry B. Witt and James B. Witt, Sr.; and his son-in-law Thomas Allen Schlapman.
He is survived by: his significant other Jean B. Witt; his siblings, Wayne Witt (Brenda) and Rosa Griffin; his children, Mark M. Witt (Jackie), Michael A. Witt (Kelli) and Linda Schlapman-Venhorst (Kevin); his daughter-in-law Kristie H. Witt; his grandchildren, Marcy Witt, Kyndall Witt, Conner Witt and Rachel Schlapman; and his stepgrandchildren, Charlie and Abby Venhorst. He is also survived by many nephews & nieces.
