She is survived by: her husband Wayne L. Roakes; her daughters, Susan Roakes of Memphis, TN and Sally Wilson (Kendall Wilson) of Alexandria, VA; her grandsons, Isaac Wilson of Park City, Nathan Wilson of Washington, DC and Eli Buncick-Roakes of Memphis, TN.; her siblings, Ursula Kramer and Winfried Thul of Daun; and also, Bernhard Thul of Krames-Klausen and Germany. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to Duke Health in support of the Palmer Transplant Research Fund or to Holy Cross Catholic Church.
