He is survived by: his wife Helen Nicholas Derricott; his children, Aleta Lewis (James) and James Derricott, Jr.; his grandchildren, Donte Hunter, Taikneka Brown, LaToya Derricott, Aleta Reed and Jayla Lewis; his great grandchildren, Kimberly Toles, Shykhai Childs and Shymhar Childs; his siblings, Lloyd (Vita), Curtis (Ruby), Lorenzo (Sandra), Gerald, Dennis (Susan), Donald Derricott (Adrienne), Symeanar Smith (Carol) and Brenda Spindle (Everette); his aunts, Laura Johnson of Gumtree, VA, Thelma Mack of Norfolk, VA and Patricia Cary; his mother-in-law Bertha Nicholas; his siblings-in-law, Dwight (Teresa), David (Sandra), Thomas Nicholas (Virginia), Elsie Derricott, Frances Kenney, Virginia Woodson, Lavinia Morris and Eloise Miller; and his friends, Lewis Smithers, Michael Cary, Keith Cary and Gene Bracey. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
