He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Benton; his close friend Burtner Oliver; his siblings, Bobby, Harold Jr., Jack, Vera, Betty and Louise; and his great grandchildren, Tabitha, Nathaniel, Jonathan and Chance.
He is survived by: his children, Dianna Lewis (Steve) of Bealeton, VA, Gail Brown (Charles) of Warrenton and William Benton, Jr. of Shenandoah, VA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great Grandchild.
