It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ulysses Norman Sr. of Bassett, Virginia, who passed away on November 14, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee Norman and Stella Scott Norman; and his siblings, Paul Brown, Larry Norman, Herbert Norman, Quincy Norman, Melanie Norman, Tessa Rainey, Rissie Doyle and Idabel Berger.
He is survived by: his children, Ulysses Norman, Jr. of Bassett, Lisa Lieteau of Martinsville and Sherry Norman of Bassett; his stepson Gregory Wade (Stephanie) of Horsepasture; and his siblings, Wallace Norman (Mary Jean) of Bassett, Phillip Norman (Maria) of Portsmouth, Doug Norman (Lucy) of Fieldale, Eula Ross of Fieldale, Hazel Clark of Hillsboro, NC and Mary Hughes of Martinsville. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Due to the governor's requirements for Covid-19, a face covering is required and social distancing is to be observed.
