Tonya Michelle Mize Mays Obituary
Tonya Michelle Mize Mays, 48, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born December 16, 1973, in Rocky Mount, Virginia, to Debra Jean Young Mize Cox and the late Russell Elbert Mize.
Tonya loved her grandkids and family "to the moon and back.". She was feisty, had a heart of gold, and you always knew what she was thinking. She loved the beach and the mountains.
In addition to her mother, Debra Cox (Rick), she is survived by her husband, Michael Mays Jr.; daughters, Brittney Worley and C.J. Harrison., and Amber Chisom and Gage; brother, Daryl Mize; and grandchildren, Averie, Zayden, Alivia, and Jenna and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 2: .30 P.M. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Terry Dalton officiating. Burial will follow at Ratcliff Young Family Cemetery, 5241 Henry Road, Henry Virginia 24102. Visitation will be one half hour prior to service. The family will receive friends at the home of Tonya's mother at 4682. The Great Road, Fieldale, Virginia.
